The 24th Worldwide Postal Competition has started on July 1, 2015. Kudos to OCD member Gary Hinze for running the 2015-2016 event. The purpose of this postal contest is to encourage friendly participation between aeromodellers worldwide with the prime emphasis being on low-key, leisurely flying without the pressures of ‘regular’ competition.

This is a postal championship contest for U.S. and Canadian model airplane clubs flying Jimmie Allen models. A participating club will select any desired single date to hold its contest during the months of July, August, September or October 2015. The club score will be the sum of the total 3-flight scores of the three highest scoring club members in the club's contest. Click here for the rules.

SAM 27 will hold their event on August 29, 2015 at Lakeville. It would be fun if we can join them with an OCD team. Please email your interest to webmaster@oaklandclouddusters.org.

We have started adding articles to the OCD Library section. Your contributions would be very welcome and much appreciated! Let's dig out those old newsletter/magazine clippings, or let's put together something totally new, and share with the Free-Flight community! We're also seeking articles or photos related to the history of our club.

OCDs regular Small Field Contest was held at Lagunita on May 17, 2015 under excellent, overcast weather conditions with very little drift and temperatures in the 60s. A few light thermals but otherwise, all airplanes remained on the field with retrieval in squishy conditions within some sporadic high reeds and other green growth. Many young frogs and toads observed under foot. Click here for the results...

The two day event was held at the Waegell field. Despite earlier forecasts of strong winds particularly for Sunday, both days were quite nice for flying. 30+ flyers enjoyed the competition and camaraderie, and a few luckier ones were treated to $100 bills in the drawing. Hope to see you there next year! Results here. Pictures coming soon...

We have ordered 10 laser cut Sky Bunny kits from the newly revived Peck Polymers. If you would like to purchase one, please let webmaster@oaklandcloudduster.org know via email. The price is $15 per kit.

If you are unable to purchase one from the club, here are the alternatives:

    • You can contact the new Peck Polymers at peck.polymers@gmail.com and order one directly from them.
    • You can order through FAI Model Supply at http://www.faimodelsupply.com.
    • You can print the plans from OCDs web site at http://www.oaklandclouddusters.org/Plans and build one from the plans.

We hope that you build one and bring it out to fly on April 12, in the OCD Small Field Contest at Lagunita. Here is the Sky Bunny event trophy you'll be fighting for, courtesy of Tom Faith.
